　　史楚锡（Clemens Scheitz 饰）是一位陌头流浪艺人，贫苦的生活让他感应穷途末路，在邻人的鼓动下，他和女友艾娃（Eva Mattes 饰）决议远赴美国，起头他们的淘金之旅。在艾娃经过出售身材筹得路费以后，三人上路了。初到美国，一切都显得光亮而布满希望，三人均找到了稳定的工作过上了安静的生活，存了一笔小钱。一次偶然中，史楚锡经过朋友得知他可以经过度期付款的方式获得属于自己的屋子，做梦都想有一个家的史楚锡绝不犹豫的脱手了。
　　第一次付款的日期很快就到来了，可是史楚锡却发现他们没法付出高额的房款，随之而来的就是第二次付款日。银行没收了史楚锡的房产，在异国异乡，史楚锡重新酿成了贫困失意的流浪汉。在无谓的挣扎以后，史楚锡终究认命了，在一间荒凉的游乐园里，他竣事了自己的生命。
