◎简　　介

　　北极地域总是带着奥秘色彩，也是神话传闻中的诱人胜境。但是，这里每年有九个月被冰雪覆盖，保存情况比世上其他地方更加严苛。这里乍似刻毒无情，本来却是很多物种的故里 ——北极熊、弓头鲸、一角鲸、厚嘴海鸦，还有人类皆居于此，北冰洋部分水域更是全球最富饶的陆地生态系统之一。
　　数千年来，因纽特人和前居者顺应了北极地域，并在此落地生根。他们在冰原上寻觅食品，相互交往，起居作息。为了保存，因纽特人还成长出一些特此外技术，他们透过观察冰雪反照在云层上的光，便能判定在远处有没有坦荡的水域。这些传统聪明恰好帮助前来研讨的科学家。
　　现时，北极地域已成为研讨重点，科学家揭穿了全球人类活动正若何影响这片悠远懦弱的地方。全球暖化对北极地域的影响比其他地方更加严重，北冰洋上的永久浮冰已缩减近百分之七十，如情况延续，终有一天北冰洋在夏日将完全无冰。世代发展在这片雪窖冰天的动动物和居民能否顺应这类变化？
