距今二十年前，以采矿业为主的诺瓦斯科提亚小镇发生一路严重的瓦斯爆炸变乱，在矿洞中的工人几近悉数丧生。变乱是由于负责人分开岗位加入情人节舞会，以致于无人监管所引发的。一年后，悲剧中的唯平生还者哈里?沃登（Peter Cowper 饰）对矿上的负责人大开杀戒，他随后被强迫送往精神医院。但在分开时哈里留下诅咒，小镇今后不成再举行情人节舞会。
二十年后，一群年轻大胆且无所忌惮的年轻人没法忍受死板烦闷的情人节，他们决议将久违的舞会带回小镇。而随着舞会一同返来的，还有残暴的血腥杀戮……
