◎简 介
夜晚，一对情侣骑摩托在黝黑的乡下公路上行进着，忽然，车子被抛到了路边，受伤的女孩Terry被农民Vincent Smith所救。第二天，他告诉女孩她男友已经遇难，被他埋葬了（后来当地的差人说，这是合道理的），并抚慰女孩勇敢地生活下去，因而，Terry在他家疗养。Vincent是什么人呢？他与妹妹Ida一同经营着一故乡下旅店，是一个看法很守旧的人。早晨偶然他会到公路上制造车祸，把伤者拉回他的旅店，像南瓜一般“种”在仓库地下，只暴露脑壳，并让略懂艺术的Ida把伤者的声带割去。他做这件事已经30年了，受害者数目不可思议。不知情的Terry戴德他的相救，并受Vincent气质传染，爱上了他。别的，Vincent的弟弟——县里的警官Bruce也同时爱上了Terry。可Vincent为什么要“种人”呢？…哦，忘了，Vincent做的腌肉是远近著名好吃的！
