◎简 介
美国德州与墨西哥交界的边境小镇，这里历来就是是非之地，由于这里充溢着从墨西哥进入美国不法的出境者，毒品、枪枝也在这里众多。艾斯卡达（胡立欧?赛萨瑟迪罗 Julio Cedillo 饰）是从墨西哥来的移民，在当地一家农场当牛仔，正直善良的他很快和农场管家皮特（汤米?李?琼斯 Tommy Lee Jones 饰）成了好朋友。
岂料此日艾斯卡达失落了，很快他的尸身被发现了，当地的差人把他葬在了当地。由于艾斯卡特生前曾拜托皮特假如他死于异乡一定要将他的尸身运回故乡埋葬，所以皮特起头了他生平最大的一次冒险。一方面，他誓要找出杀戮好友的真凶；另一方面，他要冒犯当地法令千里运尸。
